Power went out out in the Juneau area this afternoon at 2:54:13pm due to a downed tree on the power lines near Gastineau Ave.

CCFR personnel reported a tree on fire - possibly due to contact with a power line - in the area a few minutes before the outage occurred. AEL&P was already en-route to the area when the tree fell across a 2nd line and knocked out power.

AEL&P staff proceeded to cut the tree completely clear of the lines before re-energizing the lines.

Power was restored to our studios at W.9th Street at 3:26pm along with parts of down town. Power was restored to the majority of the Juneau area by 4pm.
