Juneau's Anna Graceman Wows Judges on "America's Got Talent", Advances to Las Vegas

11 year old Anna Graceman from Juneau performed a 3rd time on NBC's "America's Got Talent" Tuesday evening on a live broadcast from Hollywood. She competed as one of 12 acts vying for America's votes for one of 4 slots to advance to the semi-finals. The results of the vote were revealed Wednesday evening.

"I'm nervous, it's a big stage, but I'm going to go out there and do my best and I'm going to rock it." said Anna in a recorded interview before her live performance of Louis Armstrong's "What a Wonderful World". Stepping up from her keyboard, Anna accompanied herself on a grand piano.

After the performance, celebrity judge Sharon Osbourne started her feedback in disbelief "I can't believe it ... you're just this tiny little peanut with this huuuge voice. You're just incredible." Sharon called Anna's choice of the song an odd one for an eleven year old, but said that it worked. Judge Howie Mandel continued that it was a good choice "... it is a wonderful world, because we get - in this world - to listen to you, and to get to know you." Howie went on to call Anna a "phenomenon", saying that "the acronym 'AGT' now goes for 'Anna's Got Talent". "A 4 foot, 4 inch, 11 year old girl singing Louis Armstrong, and singing it beautifully; that is America's Got Talent." added judge Piers Morgan to close out the feedback before voting opened.

On Wednesday's results show, Anna was called to the stage along side Dezmond Meeks and Echo of Animal Gardens to hear the results of the viewer vote. Sharon compared Dezmond and Anna as incredible talents and expressed some concern over who was more likely to be voted forward.

Show host Nick Cannon then revealed the result: Anna moves forward to the live Semi-Finals. Anna immediately thanked her fans as the studio audience chanted her name: "Thank you so much everybody, thank you so much for voting for me. I love you all, and I feel so special right now; thank you so much!".

Howie told the beaming Anna: "Every night I go home and people ask me about you, more than about anybody else. Your world has changed: you have arrived." Anna will next appear on the show in August where she will compete against 23 other acts in the semi-finals.

Anna's media availability is limited by contest rules and consequently she was not immediately available for comment.
